State Legislative Director
For more than 25 years, Gary has pursued a career in public affairs advocacy through his work in the state legislature, with a trade association, and currently with Planned Parenthood.
A graduate of Ashland College (B.A. 1982) and Kent State University (M.A. 1983), Gary has transformed his Political Science degrees into a commitment to public service and advocacy.
Spending nearly 15 years at the Ohio Statehouse, Gary began as a Legislative Intern, Legislative Aide, and Executive Assistant to former Senate Minority Leader Robert J. Boggs before concluding his state government career with two separate tours of duty as Minority Chief of Staff of the Ohio House of Representatives. He also served as Executive Director of a statewide trade association representing thoroughbred owners and trainers.
In April, 2004, Gary joined Planned Parenthood Affiliates of Ohio where he leads the legislative and lobbying efforts of Planned Parenthood at the Ohio Statehouse.
State Field Director
A graduate of American University, Katherine earned a Bachelors degree in Political Science while interning for Congressman Sherrod Brown. She is also a graduate of the Campaign Management Institute at American University. Katherine returned to Ohio in 2001 for graduate study at the University of Akron (M.A.P. 2003).
Katherine has since gained extensive organizing experience working on political and issue campaigns at the national, state and local levels. Previous campaigns include: Dennis Kucinich for President (2004), Tom Betti for State Representative, Sherrod Brown for U.S. Senate, Capri Cafaro for Congress, Joe Courtney for Congress (CT-2). Immediately prior to joining PPAO, Katherine served as a Legislative Aide to State Senator Capri Cafaro.
As the State Field Director of Planned Parenthood Affiliates of Ohio, Katherine creates and executes advocacy campaigns aimed at educating the public about the work we do, and protecting reproductive rights and access to affordable health care for women and families.
E-Organizer
A lifelong Buckeye, Gabriel received his degree in Political Science from The Ohio State University (B.A. 2003). His career began as a union organizer with SEIU/District 1199. He comes to PPAO from the Ohio Senate, where he was a Legislative Aide for Senator Tom Sawyer (D-Akron).
